Lines

The lines in these works evoke rays of coloured light travelling through space, unseen until they are reflected off a surface. Each painting carries a matrix of cotton tapes suspended by various means a few millimetres away from the canvas surface. The tapes are painted on their undersides, so that the colour bounces off the canvas. In effect the perceived colour is applied by the action of rays of light, so we come full circle.
