This canvas hung as the background of a larger work, A Solution for Damien, in a group show I was part of in 2013. I had thought to keep the works together, and looked at attaching brackets to the back of it to support the hanging tapes, but I thought better of it as it seemed altogether too cumbersome. I prefer the spareness of the stretcher on its own. It requires close attention but that is well rewarded.
It was created by stapling onto it over a hundred strips of cotton tape, which were then airbrushed with a number of little hits of colour and removed to form a partner work, Flystrips.
